Hi I'm Julie, the hands behind every cake at Sweet indulgent Fancies.
My Story
For the past 11 years I've proudly owned Sweet Indulgent Fancies creating bespoke wedding cakes, celebration cakes and handcrafted sweet treats for customers across Bournemouth and Dorset.
My passion for cake decorating started long before I opened my business. I used to bake with my Mum absolutely and loved it. Over the years I've had the privilege of working at established venues such as The Queens Hotel and The Normandie Hotel gaining valuable experience and developing my skills in all things sweet.
I love creating cakes that not only beautiful but are made especially for each customer and their special occasion.
What I believe in
For me it all starts with a conversation, I love getting to know each customer and finding out exactly what they really like so every cake feels personal and not off the shelf. I love creating cakes that are as individual as the people and occasions they celebrate. From elegant wedding cakes to fun and and creative birthday designs I take pride in bringing each customers idea to life. I use only the finest ingredients and take a genuine pride in in what I do always doing my very best to make sure every customer is happy with their cake.
Recognition
I am very proud to have won several awards and recognitions over the years.
I have been recognised in the 3 Best Rated awards in Bournemouth for the past 6 years which is something I'm incredibly proud of.
In 2020 I ws delighted to be named the winner of the Cakes, Pastries and Sweets category in the Love Local Trust Local Awards.
Most recently Sweet Indulgent Fancies was awarded Best Celebration Cake 2026 - Dorset by LUXlife.
It means a great deal to have my work recognised and I'm so grateful to all my wonderful customers for their continued support.
Outside the Kitchen
Outside the kitchen I'm married with 2 grown up girls and love spending time with my family.
I enjoy going to the gym and keeping active and I try to have a healthy lifestyle although being surrounded by cake certainly makes that interesting.
I also have a Springer Spaniel who keeps me busy with plenty of walks.
Alongside Sweet Indulgent Fancies I also work bank shifts at Bournemouth hospital which I enjoy as it allows me to keep my hand in and do something completely different from baking.
